The PT6A-60A manufactured by Pratt & Whitney, has been described as one of the best medium PT6 models produced. The PT6A-60A is installed only on the Beechcraft (now owned by Textron) King Air 300 and 350.
These engines produce 1050 shp (1113 eshp) at 1700 shaft output rpm (N2/NP) and 39,000 Gas Generator rpm (N1/NG). Pratt & Whitney has recommended the time between overhaul (TBO) at 3600 hours with a Hot Section Inspection due mid way at 1800 hours. Depending on operation, maintenance, and environment, our customers have seen Pratt TBO extensions up to 4500. Each engine weighing in at 487 lbs dry weight are installed in the tractor configuration on the leading edge of each wing on the King Air.
